サボー・バラーシュ（SZABÓ Balázs）

サボー・バラーシュは、オルガン、ピアノ、チェンバロ、そして彼にとって特別な楽器であるハルモニウムを含む、さまざまな鍵盤楽器で幅広い演奏活動を行っている。

サボーは15歳で音楽の勉強を始めた。ブダペストのリスト音楽院を卒業後、ドイツ、イタリア、オランダで研究を続け、オルガン、教会音楽、音楽学、オルガン製作を学んだ。最も重要な指導者はクリストフ・ボッサートであった。また、ローマとトロッシンゲンで開講されている、世界で唯一のオルガン専門家のための国際エキスパート課程も修了している。
2015年にはユトレヒトで音楽学の博士号（Ph.D.）を取得し、2022年にはブダペストで大学教授資格を取得した。

彼はサン・モーリス（2007年、スイス）、ビアリッツ（2009年、フランス）、ニュルンベルク ION（ドイツ）などの著名な国際コンクールで第1位を獲得。また、シャルトル（2014年、フランス）、ヴィースバーデン（2009年、ドイツ）、ハイデルベルク（2008年、ドイツ）では第2位を受賞した。

2011年よりリスト音楽院で教鞭をとり、現在はオルガン部門の主任を務めている。2024年には、世界でも最も古く著名な音楽・舞台芸術教育機関の一つであるウィーン国立音楽大学の教授に任命され、マルティン・ハーゼルベックの後任となった。

サボー・バラーシュはマックス・レーガーの音楽の専門家としても知られている。2016年には、7つのコラール幻想曲全曲を収録した2枚組CDと、その画期的な研究出版の両方が国際的に高く評価された。

 

 

Over the past several years he has succeeded in wiping the dust off the organ and establishing a new reputation for this instrument. He enjoys a highly varied performing career on a wide spectrum of keyboard instruments, including the organ, piano, harpsichord and his special instrument: the harmonium d’art.

Balázs Szabó began his musical studies at the age of 15. He graduated from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and continued his studies in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands (organ, church music, musicology and organ building). During his studies his most important mentor was Christoph Bossert. He also completed the only existing International Master for Organ Experts in Rome and Trossingen.

In 2015 he received his Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology in Utrecht, and in 2022 he completed his habilitation in Budapest.

He won first prizes at renowned international organ competitions: St. Maurice (2007, CH), Biarritz (2009, FR) and Nürnberg ION (DE), and second prizes in Chartres (2014, FR), Wiesbaden (2009, DE) and Heidelberg (2008, DE).

In 2010 he received the City of Miskolc Standard of Excellence Award and the Junior Prima Prize, and in 2015 the Múzsa Award.

Since 2011 he has held a teaching position at the Liszt Academy of Music, where he is Head of Organ Studies.

In 2024 he was appointed University Professor at one of the world’s oldest and most renowned institutions for music and the performing arts, the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, as the successor of Martin Haselböck.

Balázs Szabó is a renowned specialist in the music of Max Reger. In 2016 both his double CD release featuring all seven chorale fantasias and his groundbreaking publication received high international acclaim.
